February Half Term Events In Kent – Trails & Outdoor Adventures

There are plenty of activities this February half term 2024 for all ages and budgets in Kent. Don’t miss out on what’s on near you in Kent with our round-up of events and activities. Head to the many gardens, attractions, theatres, castles, country parks, galleries and museums in the Garden of England for school holiday fun. February Half Term Events In Kent 2024

MURDER, TRAILS AND MORE
Outdoor hunts and adventures this half term with a range of trails and quests at country parks, town centres and railway rides and treasure, little ones can solve the clues and solve the mystery this February school holidays in the county.

At the Dragon Hunt at Fort Amherst in Chatham, little ones can hunt for the nine baby dragons and when they have found all of them they will receive a prize. For the best experience, it will require a mobile phone with a QR reader. Also, Lord Neil Dragon’s Bane tells tales of his adventures catching dragons around the world. Time: Until 18th February 2024. Price: Hunt: £2, Storytelling: £2. Age Guidance: Up to 11 years.

At Widlwood in Herne Bay the Adam the Adder Adventure Trail sees visitors slither their way through the 42-acre ancient woodland, with prizes for the victors. There are other activities for Half Term at Wildwood, food creations, and bushcraft experiences, and fancy dress competitions too. Time: Adam the Adder Adventure Trail: Until 18th February, 10am-4pm, Create your own biscuits: 16th February, 1pm and Fancy dress competition: 18th February, 1pm. In Tunbridge Wells head to the National Trust’s Scotney Castle for the Scotney Murder Mystery trail to see if you can reveal what’s happened. Scattered around the garden at Scotney Castle are clues, see if you can put them together and uncover what happened. If you can solve the mystery there’ll be a small reward. Time: Until 18th February 2024, 10am-5pm. Price: £3 with admission, see listing for prices.

For the HMS CAVALIER. Crew Challenge at Historic Dockyard Chatham families have the opportunity to step aboard HMS CAVALIER and embark on an exciting journey to become honorary members of the ship’s crew. Time: Until 18th February 2024, 10am-4pm. Price: Tickets last one year- Online/At Door: Adult: £28.50/£32, Child – 4 to 15 years: £18/£20, Family – 1 adult and up to 5 children/2 adults and up to 4 children: £77/£85, Carer: N/A/Free. Age Guidance: 6 years +.

February Half Term Events In Kent include this one in Gravesend at the Trosley Country Park – a  Year of the Dragon-inspired Half Term Trail for the school holidays. Time: Until 18th February 2024, 12Noon-1pm. Price: £3 – parking charges also apply.

In Canterbury, there’s Mischief At The Museum at the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge as they celebrate 50 years of Bagpus in this interactive family trial. Explore the museum and solve the puzzles, help round up the party guests and celebrate 50 years of Canterbury’s most famous cat in this interactive family trail. For visitors with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), they can borrow a SEND Family Backpack for a trail too. Time: From Until 18th February, 10am-5pm except Sunday 11am-4pm.

Nature Scavenger Hunt at Reuthe’s Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks is designed to encourage children to have fun whilst learning about what they can find in the woodland. The site is 11 acres and the gardens feature two main trails. Time: Until 29th February 2024, daily, 8.30am-3.30pm. Price: Adult: £3, Child: 3 years +: £1 – includes trail sheet and a small prize, Child: up to 2 years: Free – but do not receive a trail sheet or prize.

On the Bear Rangers Winter Quest Trail join Ranger Bear and his woodland pals on a playful quest through the magical trails of Bewl Water. Pick up a map from the Waterfront Café,  follow the clues and collect all the letters to unlock the secret word and win the game. Time: Until 17th March 2024, daily, 9.30am-4pm. Price: FREE

Take the little ones along to the Fairy Scavenger Hunt @  Whitstable Castle for little ones to trail sheet from the studio and hunt for clues around the gardens. They can also take part in the Fairy Craft Workshops in the studio. They can also enter the colouring competition for a chance to win one of the Fairy Gardens. Time:  16th February 2024, 11am-3pm. Price: Fairy Scavenger Hunt: £3.50 – includes sweet treat and fairy craft pack, and Fairy Craft Workshops: Additional £1.

February half term events in Sittingbourne in Kent include the Diesel Trains and Kids Treasure Hunt activities at Bredgar And Wormshill Light Railway. Time:  16th February 2024, 11am-2pm. Price: TBC.

Become at CluedUpp: Crimescene Investigator in Ashford in this outdoor murder mystery event. Four victims have been killed in 24 hours, and as you hunt for clues you’ll visit different locations in the area, solve cryptic puzzles, and interrogate virtual witnesses. Time: 17th February 2024, 9am-2pm. Offer on at £18 – usually £60 for a team of 4 – Under 16 years – not counted within team numbers.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
Plenty of activities this half term that will get the heart pumping with obstacle courses, axe throwing, archery and Nerf gun battles. Plus campfire cooking, and animal encounters. February Half Term Events In Kent include:

The. Betteshanger Activities – February Half Term at Betteshanger Country Park in Deal includes Axe Throwing, and at the Battle Archery Range experience they can aim high and score big with foam-tipped arrows to hit a range of targets. The epic Nerf gun battles will have them dodging darts and unleashing inner warrior! Time: Until 16th February 2024 – check the listing for which dates and times for activities. Price: Axe Throwing: £5, Battle Archery Range: £5 ABD Shootout Arena: £5, parking charges apply.

At the Map and Compass Orienteering for 12 years and over at Betteshanger Country Park in Deal they can learn the basics of using a compass alongside a map to take bearings and plot the direction of travel. Time:  17th February 2024, 10am-11am. Price: £10 – parking charges also apply. Time 10th to 16th February 2024 – check the listing for dates of specific activities.

Kids events in Gravesend in Kent during the February half term include this hands-on animal experience. Little ones can meet and handle reptiles and rodents including lizards, rats, and corn snakes. Animal Encounters is at Shorne Woods Country Park. Time: 16th February 2024, 1 hour sessions at 9.30am, 10.45am, 12Noon, 1.30pm and 2.45pm. Price: From £2, parking charges apply.
