Being Inbetween Exhibition At The Amelia photographic show explores the complex transition between childhood and young adulthood. Award-winning photographer Carolyn Mendelsohn has worked collaboratively with 90 girls and this show offers a highly personal insight into this group of unique young women. Eco Week 2024 at Hever Castle offer craft activities including turning an old T-shirt into a bag without any sewing and making a beeswax candle. Also learn how to make a conker laundry pouch and a bird feeder, a Japanese Tawashi dishcloth and a stick photo frame. At the free Family Crafts event at Guildhall Museum make a Victorian house and help decorate a crafty Victorian street. Time: Until 16th February 2024, 10am-4pm. Price: FREE.
For the half term at the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham decorate a photo frame inspired by a beautiful blue silk jacket with a gold dragon embodied on it. For February Half Term Events in Margate head to the Crab Museum which is reopening after having updated some exhibits, with an extra spicy rework of the Claw Learning Studio to show off. Time: Until 18th of February 2024, 11am-5pm. Price: FREE.
SEND Family Crafts at Maidstone Museum has Egyptian themes and offers guided and open-ended craft opportunities for children with SEND and their siblings. At the History Makers at Dover Castle join characters from the past. Plenty of historical hijinks and hands-on shenanigans with genuine medieval executioner Thomas de Warblynton as he executes history’s foulest traitors. Decides how he does the deed, or take up arms and learn the noble art of the sword at the sword school. Time: Until 18th February 2024, 10am-4pm. Price: English Heritage Member: Free. Wild One’s Forest School Holiday Club at Betteshanger Country Park. Children enjoy the outdoors and nature, having the freedom to explore for themselves, and developing self-confidence, self-esteem, and a whole host of other skills. Young performers with a passion for acting, singing or dance, can sign up for five days of intensive training with industry professionals with the Panto School 2024 course at Stag Sevenoaks. Feb Fest 2024 at Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone. With a range of theatre, dance and drama workshops with sessions for all ages with musical theatre themes including Mean Girls, Hamilton, Billy Elliot and Marvel Superhero School, Princess Academy, Dinky Disney and Barbie World Session. Half term events in Dartford in Kent include a range of masterclasses in singing, acting, dance and directing with leading industry professionals. In partnership with Dartford Borough Council, the West End Workshop sessions include the chance to learn the dances, songs and script from your favourite West End shows.
