    February Half Term Events In Kent 2024

    CREATIVE & CRAFTY
    Little ones can learn to create a trio of Egyptian-inspired crafts, see a show about childhood and young adulthood, and learn to make sustainable items as well as Valentine’s creations for the February half term in Kent.

    Being Inbetween Exhibition At The Amelia photographic show explores the complex transition between childhood and young adulthood. Award-winning photographer Carolyn Mendelsohn has worked collaboratively with 90 girls and this show offers a highly personal insight into this group of unique young women. Time: Until 16th June 2024. Monday to Friday: 9am-6pm, Saturday: 9am-5pm and Sunday: 10am-4pm. Price FREE

    Eco Week 2024 at Hever Castle offer craft activities including turning an old T-shirt into a bag without any sewing and making a beeswax candle. Also learn how to make a conker laundry pouch and a bird feeder, a Japanese Tawashi dishcloth and a stick photo frame. Plus, make an herb planter from an egg carton and how to make a coffee body scrub. Time: Until 18th February 2024. Price: Free with admission, unless stated otherwise, see listing for entry prices.

    At the free Family Crafts event at Guildhall Museum make a Victorian house and help decorate a crafty Victorian street. Time: Until 16th February 2024, 10am-4pm. Price: FREE.

    For the half term at the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham decorate a photo frame inspired by a beautiful blue silk jacket with a gold dragon embodied on it. Time: until 17th February 2024, 11am-3pm. Price: With admission  – see listing for prices, and then Activity: £3, Friends’ membership/Snob the Dog loyalty card: £2.50.  Admission ticket is valid for 12 months.

    For February Half Term Events in Margate head to the Crab Museum which is reopening after having updated some exhibits, with an extra spicy rework of the Claw Learning Studio to show off. Time: Until 18th of February 2024, 11am-5pm. Price: FREE.

    SEND Family Crafts at Maidstone Museum has Egyptian themes and offers guided and open-ended craft opportunities for children with SEND and their siblings. Time: 16th February 2024, 2 x 1 hour sessions: 10.30am and 1.30pm. Price: £3.50 per session. Price: £3.50 per session. Age Guidance: 4 to 11 years.

    SKOOL’S COOL
    February half term activities where they will love to be back at school – whether it’s theatre-based workshops, outdoor survival sessions, photography workshops and how to build a des res for birds, there’s plenty of lessons they will love to learn.

    At the History Makers at Dover Castle join characters from the past. Plenty of historical hijinks and hands-on shenanigans with genuine medieval executioner Thomas de Warblynton as he executes history’s foulest traitors. Decides how he does the deed, or take up arms and learn the noble art of the sword at the sword school. Time: Until 18th February 2024, 10am-4pm. Price: English Heritage Member: Free. Adult: £23, Child – 5-17 years: £14, Child – under 5 years: Free. Concession: £20, Family – 1 adult & up to 3 children: £37. Family – 2 adults & up to 3 children: £60 – prices at gate will be higher than listed to purchase online.

    Wild One’s Forest School Holiday Club at Betteshanger Country Park. Children enjoy the outdoors and nature, having the freedom to explore for themselves, and developing self-confidence, self-esteem, and a whole host of other skills. Activities may include woodland crafts, lighting fires, campfire cooking, building dens, and climbing trees. Time: Until 16th February 2024, 9am-3pm. Price: £30 per day. Parking charges apply. Age Guidance: 5 to 11 years.

    Young performers with a passion for acting, singing or dance, can sign up for five days of intensive training with industry professionals with the Panto School 2024 course at Stag Sevenoaks. Time: Until 16th February 2024, 12th to 15th – Course: 10am-5pm and 16th February Rehearsals: 10am for show at 2.30pm. Price: Five day course: £250.

    Feb Fest 2024 at Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone. With a range of theatre, dance and drama workshops with sessions for all ages with musical theatre themes including Mean Girls, Hamilton, Billy Elliot and Marvel Superhero School, Princess Academy, Dinky Disney and Barbie World Session. Time: Until 16th February 2024. Sessions vary over the dates check the listing for details. Price: Workshops £10 per person, except Dance Fit, Princess Academy for Tots and Dinky Disney sessions: £7 per session per person.

     


    Half term events in Dartford in Kent include a range of masterclasses in singing, acting, dance and directing with leading industry professionals. In partnership with Dartford Borough Council, the West End Workshop sessions include the chance to learn the dances, songs and script from your favourite West End shows. There will also be an in-depth Q&A and get that all-important selfie with the workshop leader! At the Acacia Sports Hall at February half term and also running in May. Time: 16th February 2024, 10.30am – 2pm. Price: £15, booking fees may apply.

    Little ones can create a ‘des res’ for birds in Gravesend in Kent with the Build A Bird Box activity at Trosley Country Park. Time: 16th February 2024, 10am-2pm. Price: £12, parking charges apply.

    Free 2-day workshop for 14-18-year-olds to connect with arts and culture. The Tech House from Electric Medway in partnership with Screen South, and is part of our Young Hack learning programme. At Centre for Music and Audio Technology at Chatham Historic Dockyard, in Medway. Also running Digital Camp for younger ages. Time: 16th and 17th February 2024, 9.30am-4pm. Price: FREE  – must book.

    The Faversham Literary Festival starts at the end of the half term but there are plenty of kid’s and family events. Time: 16th to 25th February 2024. Price: Free and ticketed.
