Description

Ashford Community Woodland on Singelton Hill is a 14 hectares woodland and grassland that was originally set aside by Ashford Borough Council to celebrate the Millennium. It lies South West of Ashford and was designed with input from residents, comprising broadleaf woodland planted as shelterbelt in 1985, with new planting in 2000-2004. The woodland is home to not only trees and plants, but it also has a population of reptiles and birds such as nightingales, chiffchaff and willow warblers. Wooden sculptures in the woodland are linked so that when you look through a hole in one you will see another sculpture in the distance, and lend an artistic element to the woodland.
