Description

Central Park has been at the heart of the town since 1906 and its mix of sports facilities, open spaces and gardens ensure it remains a firm favourite to visitors. The 26-acre park includes a visitor centre, a water play area, bandstand, teen chill out zones, skatepark, playgrounds and free and accessible outdoor fitness equipment as well as the Ecology Island where workshops have proved a success. Cycling trails, walkways and plenty of areas to relax are connected by two iron bridges that span the River Darent and make the park easier to access as they connect two entrances. The Prince's tunnel, part of the Edwardian vision for the space, connects the park and Brooklands Lakes.
