Description
Mystery surrounds the origins of the Chiding Stone, with rumours including that it was used by ancient druids, that it could have been a boundary marker or was used to conduct judicial affairs. Another myth is that wrongdoers and witches were brought to the stone as punishment. The one truth is that it is made from natural stone and was formed millions of years ago when the land was underwater, and from which the village takes its name.
