Description
Church of St Mary’s is an unusually large church for a village, and this is due to the fact that it was supported by a college of priests in the Middle Ages. It was then substantially rebuilt in the 16th Century, however as the north aisle was not replaced it left the church oddly shaped and this can still be seen today. With timber pillars and the unique Oxenden chapel which contains that family's bull’s head monument, as well as contemporary metalwork screens, highlight the building's other unusual features.
