Description

A Long Barrow is a communal tomb and the Coldrum Long Barrow is described as the least damaged prehistoric monolith in Kent. Dating to 3985-3855 BC it is older than Stonehenge by more than 1000 years and the Coldrum Long Barrow is under the protection of the National Trust since 1926. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, with the Trust protecting and preserving the remains for future generations. It is set on a small hill, in the shadow of the North Downs, surrounded by white chalky fields and views to the south.
