Description
Capturing the history of the Elham Valley Railway Line, the Museum showcases the highlights of the railway that ran through Elham Valley between Canterbury and Folkestone from 1884 to 1947. Exhibits include artefacts and models, including a working scale model of the Channel Tunnel terminal at Cheriton. There is also a miniature railway ride for children. The Countryside Centre is housed in a 290-year-old barn close to the Museum, where you can learn about the history of the barn, the machinery used in the construction of the Channel Tunnel and get on board the last remaining man-rider which carried workers to the tunnel.
