Description
The impressive Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara was built for the local Sikh population after they had outgrown their previously Gurdwara in Clarence Place in the town. Built to reflect Indian cultural origins as well as provide modern facilities, the eight and half acre site offered the best solution, and its architecture included stonework and woodcarving by specialist companies in India.
