Hole Park, Tenterden
An attractively laid-out, privately owned 15-acre garden, Hole Park is often called a hidden gem - and it’s easy to see why. Owned by the Barham family for four generations, it sits within over 200 acres of classic parkland. The colourful gardens enjoy far-reaching views over the hills, woods, and fields of the picturesque Kentish Weald. A skilful mix of formal design and naturalised planting, they deliver colour throughout the seasons.
Hole Park runs regular tours, walks, and events – including the Wealden Times Midsummer Fair and the Wilderness Gathering, plus many more.
Hole Park's Highlights
In spring, the famous bluebell walk is complemented by breathtaking magnolias and an abundance of wild garlic, followed by incredible wisteria, rhododendron, and azalea displays. These give way to rich formal border displays in summer, then a riot of woodland colour in autumn.

Good To Know
During the Wealden Times Midsummer Fair, ticket holders to the Fair will be allowed into the gardens on these dates.

Discounted and Season Tickets/Historic House concessions do not apply on charity openings, NGS days or special event days, including the Wealden Times Fair.

Accessibility
Some paths may not be wheelchair-accessible, but alternative routes are marked. On arrival, pick up a map for the accessible route around the garden. There are some areas which are more difficult to use, and alternative routes are offered. The advice is not to go down into the woodland valley unless you have the means of exiting; stay on the high ground. The Bluebell Wood is accessible, but it is best not to venture into the furthest sections, from where the path divides, as there are many steps.
Please note: Transit Chairs may be refused, but visitors are welcome to use their free hire wheelchairs.

Bus
297 from Tunbridge Wells to Tenterden passes Hole Park and is available as a request stop.

Parking
Free parking, a drop-off point at the garden entrance to the front of the house.

Dog Details
Welcome, but must be kept on leads.

Additional Notes
Picnics are allowed in the parking area but not in the gardens.
