Description

Horne’s Place Chapel is an English Heritage site and was linked to the manor house by a doorway - now blocked - which was the seat of the influential Horne family from 1276.  Edward 1 granted land that contained the manor to Matthew Horne and the Chapel was licensed for divine service in 1366, which meant the family had their own private chapel, which was an indicator of a family’s high status at the time.

Opening Hours
Only open to the public on Heritage Open days only.

Accessibility
A short walk from the driveway over a narrow, uneven brick path. Two-tree stopes into the chapel with several steps into the undercroft.
