Description

The small piece of bone of St Augustine is a relic at the church as St Augustine landed very close to this site in AD 597 and as Augustine Pugin, the benefactor and builder of the St Augustine Church where this shrine is located had a great devotion to St Augustine. You can visit the Shrine’s location and the Church at The National Pugin Centre (please see our separate listing for more details).
