Description

Stone Wood in Shadoxhurst near Ashford is a small reserve in the middle of large areas of woodland, meadows, and ponds. This ancient woodland site, which was planted with conifers by the Forestry Commission around the middle of the last Century, was cut during the early ‘90s and left to regenerate. The woodland is home to birds including nightingales, turtle doves, and buzzards and has grazing cattle at various times of the year.
