Description

Closed until Easter 2021.

The Six Poor Travellers’ House opened to travellers in 1586 until 1940 and was founded by Richard Watts to offer one night’s free lodgings, food, entertainment and four pence each. It also offered help to children, poor or orphans and provided with new clothes when they left the house. The house has also been used as a house of correction or reform school. It is now a museum that presents its history with artifacts and history of the philanthropist Watts legacy.
