Description
Toys Hill is a 200 acre site of woodland that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI) and significantly important for nature conservation. Lots of walks, including three waymarked walks, full of wildlife including reptiles, bats, dormice and a range of flora and fungi. Overlooking the Weald, it probably took its name in the Middle Ages from a local landowning family and is the place that inspired Octavia Hill to found the National Trust, who oversee the woodland.
