Description
This full size replica of a Viking Ship, knowns as the Hugin (longship), was given to Kent by the Danish Government in 1949 to mark the 1,500th anniversary of the invasion of Britain,. It can be found on the cliff top at Pegwell Bay (see our separate listings for more details on the Bay)., and commemorates the year that Hengist and Horsa, leaders of the Anglo-Saxon invasion, at nearby Ebbsfleet.
