Description
Hot air balloon rides with Virgin Balloon Flights start from Northgate on the northeastern side of the cathedral city. You can spot ruins from the air, and the key sites of the city, some of which have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Flight locations also include Maidstone, Hollingbourne, Tunbridge Wells, and Ashford.

Advisory Notes
The launch site, which is one of the fields belonging to St John’s C of E Primary School, is through this barrier and approximately 100 yards along on the right hand side. Please note that this barrier will only be opened 30 minutes before the scheduled meeting time and is located to the west of the school, over a river. Please do not go to or park up at St John’s C of E Primary School itself. Flights are generally scheduled 6-8 weeks in advance.
Additional Notes
Allow 3-4 hours for the full experience. You can’t fly if you’ve recently had major surgery or are pregnant. Due to weight and space restrictions, those 20 stone or more will be required to pay a supplement. This is also the case for those over 18 stone and under 6ft tall.
Age Guidance
Children must be 7+ years and at least 4ft 6in (1.4m) tall, with children under 16 years to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
