Description
Celebrate VE Day 80 events at Ightham Mote in Sevenoaks, Kent and discover what domestic life was really like at Ightham Mote during the Second World War.
Home Front Life
Volunteers bring to life what is was meant to have to make do and mend, grow your food, ration, and see examples of equipment that had to be carried around in case of an unexpected enemy attack. The London Ambulance Service Historic Collection will also be displaying its 1935 Clements Talbot Ambulance. The only wartime ambulance known to have survived the Blitz is fully stocked with medical supplies and equipment from World War II.
Wartime Weekend
Join the brilliant Up and At 'Em! team for fun, interactive and family-friendly sessions, including Ready Steady Ration Cook! and Life on the Home Front. On Sunday, take along a picnic as the Biggin Hill Band play wartime classics.
