Description
Hatch Park in Ashford is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its acidic grassland, a scarce habitat in Kent, and is an ancient pollard woodland that is full of species-rich sward, as well as trees. There is a deer park nearby, with Hatch Park also of importance for the mature timber habitat supporting beetles (Coleoptera) and hole-nesting birds such as nuthatch, stock dove, and 3 species of woodpecker. It is in private ownership but has public rights of way so you can explore this historic nature rich park.
Bus
10 and 12 run along the A20 close to the deer park.
