Description
The Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (The RH&DR) covers six stations from the Cinque Port town of Hythe to Dungeness. The railway, known as Kent’s Mainline in Miniature, is one-third full-size steam and diesel locomotives and covers 13 and a half miles of track. The stations Hythe, Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay, New Romney, Romney Sands and Dungeness are all within walking distance of a beach, and you can also explore walks, medieval churches and the iconic lighthouse at Dungeness.
It operates from the New Romney Station, where visitors can see a model exhibition, explore the engine shed, and visit a children’s playground. Younger visitors can join the Bug Club, a children's membership for those under 11 years old. Runs seasonal events, including its popular Santa Specials.
