Belmont House

Gardens & History

Description

The 18th Century Belmont House in Faversham is steeped in history with mementoes of the family’s history and travels, set in more than 3,000 acres with commanding views of the estate and surrounding Kentish North Downs. Collected over 5 generations of the Harris family, who were the Lords of the estate for 200 years, the house's trio of collections include the armoury, the Cazabon collection, and the Clock Museum. This Grade I-listed house, open seasonally for tours, also offers insights into the building itself, its French-style drawing room, and the library with three-quarter height bookcases designed by the original architect of the house, which reveals a secret door.

Belmont run regular workshops, themed tours and seasonal family experiences. Click on events under the main image for details.
