Summer holiday events in Thanet include the Treasure Island Summer at Margate Caves where little ones can explore with a pirate-themed trail. On Messy Mondays there will be different pirate and treasure-themed craft activities each week. Until the 1st of September 2024. Read More
MYSTICAL JOURNEY
Little ones can embark on the Secret Lives of Woodland Animals, taking a mystical journey through the lush woodlands and uncovering the intricately crafted miniature homes of the forest friends at Leeds Castle, Maidstone. They can meet Colin, the Common Frog, and his friends as he lounges by the river longing, and find the 12 locations along the Woodland Walk to the Pavilion Lawn. VINEYARD HUNT
Every Wednesday to Friday until the 1st of September, head to the vines for the new Vineyard Trail at Squerreys Winery in Sevenoaks. For this fundraiser for Hospice in the Weald, at this children’s Trail in Kent, little ones can hunt for questions around the vineyard, and receive a lollipop once they’ve completed the trail. TEDDYBEAR HUNT
On the weekends and bank holidays, little ones can head to the Teddy Bear Trail At Eastgate House in Rochester to hunt for the teddies hidden around the property. From the 20th July to 1st September 2024.
DINOSAUR’S IN TOWN
Children’s Trails in Kent include the Dinosaurs On Your Doorstep Trail by The Amelia. Little ones can hunt for the 12 baby dinos hidden around the town. Each baby dino is hiding a secret letter, once all 12 have been found they have to work out the name of a missing dinosaur. Once completed they can enter the competition to win some roar-some prizes! Pick up a paper map from The Amelia or the Customer Service Point in Royal Victoria Place. From the 24th of July to 1st of September 2024. Read More
OUTDOOR SCULPTURE
For events in Thanet head down to The Monkton Nature Reserve for a unique experience that combines nature and art. Here, you can explore the 16-acre abandoned chalk quarry and the Sculpture Trail with 23 sculptures inspired by nature, and made from natural materials. The reserve is a haven for wildlife, with over 350 flowering plants, including 10 orchid species. In addition, there are 25 butterfly species documented along with countless other insects, mammals and birds. Until September 2024. Read More
NATURE’S CALL
In Tunbridge Wells in Kent Changed Priorities Ahead at Scotney Castle features an exhibition in the old castle and a trail in the garden, both based on the work of the nature artist Nessie Ramm. The artist paints native wildflowers in detail as they thrive undisturbed on roundabouts, slip roads and laybys, with metal road signs as her ‘canvas’. It is a call to put away our strimmers and re-evaluate our relationship with the natural world. From the 1st June to 20th October 2024. Read More

TIME TRAVEL
Summer events in Sevenoaks in Kent for the school holidays include the Adventures In Time Travel at Hever Castle. Little ones can help the adventurers stuck in time, find the lost key to help them make their way back home. With hands-on activities and challenges, this family fun adventure includes meeting a knight, joining in a sword battle and finally balancing the counterweights to unlock the door and safely return home. WALMER EXPLORER
During the school holidays enjoy the Summer Explorer Quest at Walmer Castle in Deal in Kent. At this English Heritage site families can follow the quest through the gardens and complete all the challenges, for family fun with a historical twist. From 20th July to 1st September 2024. Read More

GRUFFALOS CELEBRATIONS
Celebrate The Gurffalo’s 25th birthday with the Gruffalo Party Trail at Bedgebury Pinetum for kid’s events in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. The interactive family trail features party-themed activities and games, along with fun facts to teach you about life in the forest for the Gruffalo and other creatures. End time TBC.
