Please note that the visitor centre is now closed, but the country park and gardens will remain open to the public. Folkestone & Hythe District Council, as owner, has taken on the responsibility for the site, with Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership continuing to manage the wider Nature Reserve.
The Romney Marsh Visitor Centre in Kent is set within 11 hectares of Romney Warren, a Site of Special Scientific Interest is an award-winning eco-friendly building with wildlife conservation at its heart. There are seasonal ponds, many species of dragonfly special flora, mosses, and lichens, with plenty of walks, cycle paths, and picnic areas. There are boardwalks over the ponds to the Lookers Hut with views across the Romney Mars and the Centre is also one of the first attractions in Kent to hold a Gold Award in Green Tourism. Regular exhibitions in the art gallery, with information on the Warren, walks, and areas of interest and events throughout the year.

Most of the paths are level and hard and there is a choice of clearly signposted nature trails, and there is wheelchair access for 90% of the site.
