Description
The Crab and Winkle Way is a cycling and walking route that takes its name from a six mile railway line that ran between Whitstable and Canterbury that was known as the Crab and Winkle Line. Along the route, which takes about 2.5 hours non stop walking or around 40 minutes on bicycle, according to Sustans (see their website link for more details), you will cover unspoilt woodland, go through Blean Wood. You will see views over Whitstable at its highest point, and while it stops at Whitstable train station it is signed right through to the harbour of the seaside town which is still a commercial port. Don’t miss the mosaic designed for the way as well as other artwork.
There is an extension being added for more details check out http://crabandwinkle.org/
