Description

With the Whitstable Oyster Tours in Kent, led by experienced and knowledgeable oyster farmers, find out about the Whitstable Oyster Farms production process from seed to plate. Learn all about oyster farming, and explore the science behind sustainable oyster aquaculture. The experience also includes sampling freshly shucked oysters and a glass of local bubbly or their Whitstable Brewery beer.
The Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company company has roots back to 1793, however, oysters have been a part of Whitstable’s history for far longer. Whitstable oysters are unique for both their provenance and quality. The farm produces 4 million Pacific rock oysters a year and may have up to 25,000 bags of oysters on the farm at any one time.
