Description
X-Pilot runs tours to visit the Maunsell Towers and Redsand Forts which were sea defences used by both the army and navy and named after their designer Guy Maunsell. Abandoned in the late 1950s, they were subsequently used for a number of uses, a pirate radio station, music videos, and an artist's exploration into isolation, but now they are completely abandoned. Trips out to see these imposing structures are external only and some trips include other sights on the route, such as the Kentish Flats Windfarm and the Grain Fort. Private hire is also available.
