The Friars is set on 40 acres of beautiful grounds and was home to a small community of Carmelite Friars from 1242, though they were forced to leave during the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1538. They finally returned in 1949. Visitors can enjoy the medieval buildings: Priors Hall, the Pilgrim Hall, and the chapels. Walk around the grounds, including the Peace Garden, Rosary Way, or buy food for little ones to feed the birds at the duck pond. Discover more on the heritage trail and enjoy all that is on offer.  There is also a pottery, a tea room shop, a bookable dining hall and accommodation.

For Sat Nav users, enter High Street or Bull Lane and use ME20 7BY. Coaches must approach and leave via Eccless, not via Aylesford Bridge or the village.
