Description
The House, once the property of King Henry VIII, was left to his son King Edward VI and granted to Sir William Sidney in 1552. The Sidney family have been in continuous occupation for more than 460 years. Visit to see the house with its many rooms and varied collections including family portraits from across the Centuries, antique furniture, tapestries, and much more including a toy museum. Enjoy the gardens and the grounds, which is home to an adventure playground and a woodland trail.

Accessibility
Parts of the gardens and grounds can be harder than others to push a standard wheelchair along, due to terrain and slopes. The gardens and ground level of the house are accessible, though the upper staterooms have 1 staircase, but a virtual tour is on offer. The Toy Museum has 5 steps leading to it. Seating and rest points are situated around the grounds. Two manual wheelchairs are available from the main Visitor Entrance for hire, but book in advance of your visit. Mobility scooters may be brought into the grounds - to be kept at a walking pace.
Dogs
Allowed in parkland only, must be put on leads around the ewes. Only registered assistance dogs are allowed past the entrance of Penshurst Place & Gardens.
