For families looking for festive events in Margate, head down - literally - to Christmas in Oz at Margate Caves. This year, the historic caves are transformed into the magical Land of Oz, where you'll meet Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, and wander past enchanted apple trees, a poppy field, the Emerald City and the witch's spell room, making a wish at the wishing well along the way. The adventure ends with a private family visit with Father Christmas in his Cosy Cave, where every child receives a Christmas gift exclusive to 2026 (valued at £10). There's still more fun to be had in Auntie Em's Craft Room and at the Over the Rainbow Café photo point.

Accessibility
The experience is partly underground and isn't fully accessible. There are 32 steps down into the Caves, with no wheelchair, pushchair or buggy access underground, so babies will need to be carried. Buggy parking is limited.

Good To Know
A maximum of six people can enter Father Christmas's Cosy Cave at once, so larger groups can explore together, but some adults may need to wait outside. Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Tickets are non-refundable and can't be moved to another date or time.
