Swap ballet shoes for wellies this Christmas at Brockhill Country Park in Hythe. Families can join the Elf Workshop and set out on a woodland Nutcracker Quest; grown-ups can forage for greenery and weave their own willow wreath, and toddlers have a festive Little Explorers session.
Elf Workshop & Nutcracker Quest: Enrol in the Elf Workshop and test your bushcraft skills, sawing a wooden Christmas decoration to paint and take home. Then set off across the park to track down the woodland nutcrackers and work out what they are protecting. Find them all to claim a prize. Recommended for children aged 2 to 11, and adults get to make a decoration too.
Foraging & Wreath Making: A workshop for ages 12 years and over: Gather round the campfire for wreath-making tips and toasted marshmallows, head out on a short foraging walk to collect materials, then warm up with a hot drink in the cosy Badger Room. Learn to weave a willow wreath base and dress it with fresh foliage, with plenty of guidance from the Brockhill Rangers. Groups are a maximum of 16, and all materials and refreshments are provided.
Little Explorers Christmas Special: A festive edition of the rangers' outdoor toddler group, with child-led play and forest school activities for walking pre-school children aged 5 and under. Refreshments for little ones and hot drinks for grown-ups are included.

Parts of these events are outdoors, so wear suitable shoes and clothing. For the wreath workshop, bring along any special decorations you would like to add.
