Folkestone Quarterhouse in Folkestone is described as the cultural hub of the south coast. The arts venue hosts a wide range of events from film screenings, exhibitions, music, theatre, festivals and workshops, with a licensed bar, The Clearing (pictured). Part of Creative Folkestone.

Venue Style: An award-winning, purpose-built arts venue that opened in 2009, with an auditorium seating 220 or holding up to 490 standing, and a programme of theatre, music, film, comedy, family shows and live screenings.
Location: In the heart of Folkestone's Creative Quarter, a short stroll from the harbour.
Visitor Info: The first-floor Clearing cafe bar, with its gothic tree-like forms and floor-to-ceiling mirrors, is a lovely spot for a drink or snack before a show, and workshops and classes run alongside the main programme.

Under 16s must be accompanied by a guardian. Events marked 16+ require proof of age.

Accessibility
Quarterhouse is wheelchair accessible, with ground floor spaces for seated performances and two balcony wheelchair spaces for standing events. A lift serves all floors, including the bar, toilets and balcony, and there are accessible toilets on the ground and first floors. The auditorium has a hearing loop; contact the box office before booking for the best seats for the system.

Travel Details

Bus
Stagecoach routes link local towns and villages to Folkestone, and National Express coaches run direct from London Victoria to Folkestone bus station in the town centre.

Train
Folkestone Central is about a 15 minute walk away, with high-speed trains from London St Pancras taking just over 50 minutes.

Parking
There is limited pay-by-phone parking behind Quarterhouse. The nearest pay and display car parks are Tram Road and Payers Park, both 2 minutes away, and the Harbour car park, 5 minutes away. There is no dedicated disabled parking at the venue.

Arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time to guarantee entry.
