Gulbenkian Arts Centre is a vibrant cultural venue at the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus, adn the Gulbenkian Theatre presents a diverse programme of theatre, dance, comedy, live music, family shows and contemporary performance. Its 340-seat theatre welcomes both national and international artists and companies, alongside a programme of community and participation events, including festivals and activities for children and young people.
Although based on the University of Kent campus, Gulbenkian is open to the wider public as well as students and staff, making it an important cultural venue for Canterbury.

Accessibility
If you require a wheelchair space, please inform the venue when booking. Contact the venue if you require early entry. Dedicated parking spaces are available in the Central Car Park. Changing Places Toilet in Templeman Library -  1 minute. away. Mobility scooters are not allowed inside during performances; there is space in the foyer area where scooters can be stored safely during events. Offer Access Scheme for free carer tickets, and pre-show visits and touch tours on some events.

Travel Details

Bus
A regular bus service operates from Canterbury City Centre to the University - 15 minutes.

Train
The closest station is Canterbury West - 30 minutes. From there, buses are available by Westgate to take you onto the University’s campus - 15 minutes.

Parking
Monday to Friday from 8am–5pm visitors can use the five Pay and Display car parks on campus. Parking elsewhere is restricted and for permit holders only. At all other times, visitors can use any car park for free.

Top Tip
Free parking is available to Gulbenkian customers after 5pm on weekdays, all day at weekends in any University car park.
