Description
Barton's Point Coastal Park on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, set in 40 acres, offers a variety of activities, including nature trails, sculptures, and a miniature steam railway. There is a large saltwater lake that is home to a variety of marine life.
The site's future is to preserve the coastal park’s important ecology, rather than updating it as a leisure venue, according to the Swale Borough Council’s Environmental Services and Climate Change Committee. See their full statement on the future of Barton's Point Coastal Park. "Taking into account how amazing and unique our coastal park truly is, we can turn our focus quite rightly into preserving, enhancing and educating people on this important ecological haven,” said a council spokesperson.
