The Estuary Festival is an arts festival spanning Kent and Essex, celebrating stories, places and people of the Thames Estuary. Taking place on the river itself, and along the 107 miles of South Essex and North Kent coastline, contemporary artworks, discussion, and events explore and respond to powerful themes resonant to the estuary. Estuary 2025 Vessels showcase includes:
Call Me Back!
A touring art installation of a supersized iconic 1990s phone booth charts Damilola Odusote’s distinct upbringing growing up in the Thames Estuary.
Film Programme
At Gravesend Town Pier anbd Wat Tyler Country Park see a programme of artists moving works explores wider metaphors connecting to the Vessels theme and our relationship to the Estuary, acting as a container for stories in transit.
Changing Tides
In Queensborough on the Isle of Sheepey, on board the newly renovated Thames Sailing Barge Raybel, will be a series of live events including live music, storytelling and lots more.
