Dare you go on an after-dark Ghost Tour at The Historic Dockyard Chatham this Halloween season? There are two torch-lit tours to choose from for 2026, each built on true accounts of historic deaths and spine-tingling stories told by Dockyard workers over the years – with no fake props or staged scares
The Ropery Complex
Explore the historic Ropery buildings and hear about the mischievous Bobbin Boys, spectral horses and the ghostly women of the Spinning Rooms.
Ships & Slipways
Head aboard historic ships after dark to hear about the "Half man" of HMS Cavalier and the red-headed ghost of HMS Gannet.

Price
£24 per person.
Carers: Free -  must be booked in advance.

This is a separately ticketed event and is not included in a Dockyard annual ticket.

9th October to 7th November 2026
9th October and 7th November: 7pm to  9pm
17th, 23rd and 31st October:  6.30pm to 9pm
Ships and Slips Tour
10th October to 6th November 2026
10th October and 6th November : : 7pm to  9pm
16th, 24th and 30th October : 6.30pm to 9pm.

Age Guidance
18 years and over.

Accessibility
Tours include steep stairs and poorly lit spaces not normally open to visitors, and are mostly torch-lit. If you have access concerns, call the Dockyard before booking.

Good To Know
Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather – the Dockyard sits beside the River Medway and can be windy.

Additional Information
Book online only. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Date changes need 28 days' notice and cost £10, and no changes can be made within 48 hours of the tour.
