Plenty to see at this Thanet art gallery, with two main exhibitions from Simone Leigh and Bridget Riley. Leigh’s Recent Sculptures show features two works, Bisi and Untitled, that connect the female body to the movements of people, objects, and ideas across the seas. Riley’s Learning to See exhibition includes her work from the late ’60s, wall paintings from the last decade, and her most recent canvases.

Lots of great woodlands, parks, gardens and beaches to explore – our top faves include Dungeness Beach, Britain’s only desert, for its atmospheric landscape and a great place to walk and explore. The Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens in Dover, with its parkland, lakes and nature, it’s easy to see why it is part of the part of Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Swanley Park is set in 60 acres of landscape parkland, with great walks, a play area and an indoor soft play barn.
